You pin, you win!

A dramatic day.A brave fight, an unbelievable comeback, a spot in the final & brilliant performances.

Who ever thought one day we will discuss javelin throw & golf?

Oh Olympics,thank you.

1. Athletics:

Javelin throw

Neeraj Chopra:Straight into the finals!

What an debut!1 attempt & he flew into the finals like his javelin!

He topped Grp A and Pakistani Arshad Nadeem topped Grp B. They will meet in the finals. Mouth watering! They shared a beautiful moment at the Asian games too!

The 23-year-old became the first Indian javelin thrower to enter the Olympic finals.

We have never won a medal in Athletics. Is this the year?

Shivpal Singh-Eliminated

2. Boxing:

Lovlina- BRONZE!!

Her semi final opponent is world champion & ruthless. My god, she fought like a champion.

In the 1st round, Busenaz took the round away in the last 30 secs.

The 2nd & 3rd rounds were intense.

While I was in awe of Busenaz, we must applaud Lovlina. She could have taken it easy but did not. I have no doubt that we have a future star.

This was our 3rd boxing medal ever & 1st Olympic boxing medal after 9 yrs.

3. Golf

Aditi Ashok:

She has made women playing golf in India a reality.

She was the youngest golfer to play at the Rio Olympics. Now, at Tokyo she is tied at no.2 with the World no 1 after round 1 (out of 4).

With her mom as her caddie, this time she is better prepared!

Diksha Dagar :

She was a last minute entrant in the Olympics because a South African golfer withdrew! Diksha is hearing impaired & represented India in 2017 Summer Deaflympics.

She is currently tied at 54th after 1st round in Tokyo.

4. Wrestling:

Deepak Punia: lost semis but will compete for Bronze

Ravi Kumar: Will fight for GOLD!

If you did not watch this fight, please do so. It is a tale of a magnificent comeback!

Few minutes into the fight, Ravi was leading 2-1. Suddenly Sanayev caught his ankles & twirled him around & the match turned on its head. Score 2-9 down.

It was complete drama after this.

You win either by pinning the opponent down on the mat OR by scoring more points. You pin, you win.

And pin he did with 50 seconds to go!

All this while, his opponent was biting him!

He will compete for GOLD! He is the 2nd Indian wrestler to enter the gold match at the Olympics after Sushil Kumar.

Anshu Malik

This youngster lost to a 2 time bronze medalist after a good fight. However, all is not lost. She will compete again in repechage.

A Repechage  provides a wrestler, who loses against either of the finalists, a chance to win the bronze.

She will have to win 2 matches for a BRONZE.

India have won 3 medals through repechage before!

Deepak Punia

He was completely outclassed in the semis by the American champion. He will compete for BRONZE.

5. Hockey- Ind v Arg women's

We lost 2-1 & will compete for BRONZE.We fought well but was just not enough. They have made us proud!

Go for Bronze girls!

I want our medal tally to double by EOD.

Get ready for an action packed day!
